«Operation Sovereignty» was a NATO military operation during the Bulgarian terrorist crisis of 2011. The main focus of the operation was to neutralize Terje Chayyim and the Liberation Party of Bulgaria. It began on November 27, 2011, and ended on June 2, 2014, with a decisive victory over the terrorist group.

Most forces of the operation were stationed in the city of Pernik, Bulgaria. The commander of the unit was George Andrews Jr., a Lieutenant General in the British Armed Forces. The unit consisted of military personnel from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Hungary. In the late stages of the crisis, the United States planned to intervene in the conflict, but decided against it because the main force was already doing well.

Post-crisis

After June 2, 2014, the unit was disbanded and the operation was declared a great success. All participants of the operation were awarded the «2011 Bulgarian Crisis Resolve» medal. A private military company, HJT International Security Services, was formed by some members of the unit, including the former commander.
