Northway Faction Anomaly Research Center (NTFARC) was a research subsidiary of Northway Faction. It was established on December 6, 2018, and disbanded on January 2, 2019, after Northway Faction disbanded itself for the first time following the apparent death of its second-in-command, Mikhail Kovac.

The organization was rather short-lived, only existing for about a month. Despite that, the organization managed to secure, study and destroy an anomaly — the AIS Phenomena anomaly in the city of Białystok, Poland. At the time of its dissolution, the NTFARC had 250 members, most of whom were transfers from Northway Faction.

History

Background

Clearly inspired by Boreas Research Facility, on December 6, 2018, Mikhail Kovac proposed the idea of a research organization to Nikolai Volkov. Volkov, who almost immediately became jealous of Boreas, agreed to the idea and established Northway Faction Anomaly Research Center. He appointed Kovac as lead researcher and transferred a small number of members from Northway to the newly formed organization.

Activities

After establishing the organization, NTFARC intercepted communications within the Boreas Research Facility about an uncontained anomaly in Poland. The organization quickly moved to secure the anomaly and started its first research project. This project did not last long, however, as Volkov ordered it destroyed on December 27.

The organization was disbanded on January 2, 2019, as a result of the First Intergroup War.

Anomalies

AIS Phenomena	Białystok, Poland	This anomaly was the first and last anomaly covered by the organization. The organization found out about this anomaly after intercepting communications within the Boreas Research Facility. In order to prevent Boreas from «stealing» this anomaly, NTFARC fed false information that this anomaly was a false alarm. The anomaly was later secured by organization's scientists, including Mikhail Kovac. The research process was directly supervised by Nikolai Volkov. During the course of research, the organization lost around 13 field scientists and security personnel. They went missing during expeditions and were never found. A later investigation into the anomaly site by the United Nations Anomaly Control Organization revealed two bodies of the missing scientists. The cause of death was determined to be extreme shock and subsequent myocardial infarction.	The anomaly was destroyed on the direct orders of Nikolai Volkov, using high explosives.
